Saturday, 11/13/10: James Shea & Rob Schlegel

The Clean Part Reading Series is back! Poets James Shea and Rob Schlegel will read at 3:00PM in the Sheldon Museum's Abbott Auditorium located at 12th and R streets. Free and open to the public. The Clean Part Reading Series, now curated by Jeff Alessandrelli and Trey Moody, is aimed at bringing innovative new poets from around the country to Lincoln. Please encourage your friends and students to attend!


James Shea is the author of Star in the Eye, selected for the 2008 Fence Modern Poets Series and named as a "Favorite Book of 2008" by the Chicago Sun-Times. His poems have appeared in various journals, including American Letters and Commentary, Boston Review, Colorado Review, jubilat, and Verse. He has taught at the University of Chicago, Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, and as a poet-in-residence in the Chicago public schools. He is currently an assistant professor of English at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Rob Schlegel is the author of The Lesser Fields, selected for the 2009 Colorado Prize for Poetry, and Bloom, selected for the 2010 Midwest Chapbook Series. His poetry and criticism appear in Boston Review, Colorado Review, Jacket2, Slope, Volt and elsewhere. He currently lives in Iowa City and teaches creative writing and literature at Cornell College.
